Our ABSN program builds on your non-nursing bachelor’s degree, so you can earn a quality BSN in as few as 16 months. The full-time four-semester program features a rigorous blend of online and onsite curriculum.

  • Online courses teach the fundamentals and theories of the nursing profession.
  • Nursing labs focus on hands-on skill development and clinical judgment.
  • Clinical rotations provide real-world experience in diverse areas of practice.

These learning components provide the academic foundation and clinical preparedness required to sit for the NCLEX-RN® exam with confidence and enter the profession as a practice-ready nurse.

In the final weeks of our ABSN program, you’ll participate in a role transition experience where you work alongside a preceptor in a specific area of nursing practice. You’ll work the same shifts as your preceptor, and as you refine your skills and build rapport with patients, you’ll take an active, if not primary, role in their care.

Student Perspective

Meet Erin, a graduate of our ABSN program. She used her health science degree to accelerate her nursing career. Today, Erin is one of the many Xavier nurses out there making a difference in the field, caring for patients at a family birthing center.

The ABSN curriculum flows really well. You learn a skill online, apply it in lab, and then go to clinical to see how that skill plays out in real life.
